Are deliberate obstacles being placed in Ryder's way? And how does the chief pathologist's office tie in? Is there indeed a psychopathic killer out there in the night or does the solution lie elsewhere?Ryder must get to the heart of the murders – and grapple with the demons that are rising again from his own past. Whatever Ryder's instincts about the case, however, the Byzantine manoeuvrings of departmental politics are interfering with the investigation. Ryder has become a local celebrity after solving a series of brutal murders a year earlier, but his reputation is built on a terrible secret, stemming from his childhood – a secret he has kept from even his closest friend.Īnother torso another, even stranger, message – and the victim this time is no prostitute. The head of Mobile's police department would have it so, but Detective Carson Ryder sees something else: the deliberate placement of the remains, the lack of blood, the bizarre writing on the victim's skin. A headless male torso found in the sweating heat of an Alabama night is assumed to be that of a murdered prostitute, killed in a moment of passion. I also saw people having similar issues with the mission that’s supposed to unlock after Ryder achieves 100% viability on all planets.A darkly compelling serial-killer thriller set in America's deep South, introducing the next big name in psychological thrillers and, in Carson Ryder, a fascinating and complex protagonist set for a long time to come. It’s a really annoying mission for this to happen on since it’s a character detail and one that spans the entire game, so it’s not easy to reload a save file and fix it. I saw on this thread that one person encountered this error and then avoided the “doubling up” on their second playthrough which fixed the bug. From what I saw in various threads, it looks like for some people if they do the “doubling up” I talked about in the original post, this creates a bug where the quest will stay open waiting for the Ryder to collect the final memory trigger even though it’s been collected. I personally went back to each area where the memory triggers are just to make sure I didn’t miss one, but I had collected them all. Even after finishing the main story, this will continue. What happened in my case (and to a few others that I saw online) is that after completing all that, the mission will still say “continue to search for memory triggers.” There will be a progress bar that looks like it’s completely filled (or nearly completely filled). After finishing “Journey to Meridian,” the mission will open and continue. After that dialogue with the display, the mission is locked until the game progresses (even though it doesn’t say “On Hold”). They’ll find a datapad with a code on it, then go to the Jien Garson display in the Cultural Center and enter in the code. This is what’s supposed to happen:Īfter unlocking the memory referencing the mysterious backer, Ryder then has to investigate Jien Garson’s apartment. The whole mission is a little weird toward the end. This contains minor spoilers for the “Ryder Family Secrets” Mission, so I’m popping it under a read more. Anonymous: Does that Family Secrets bug persist even up until the "Journey To Meridian" main mission? Because I thought my game was bugged from letting me complete it even though I collected all the memories, but turned out I just needed to wait.
